This gurukulam was started in the year 2013 at Banasankari III Stage, Bangalore by Sri Govinda Sarma. Sri.Govinda Sarama studied at Hospet Patasala for 8 years and under Sri.Subramanya Bhide for 3 years. Presently the patasala is functioning at Raghuvanahalli off Kankapura Road.
Sixteen Vidyarthis are taught Krishna Yajur Vedam Thaithreeya Sakha by Sri.Govinda Sarma
The vidyarthis are under various stages of learning. At the patasala, vidyarthis are taught Vedas from its basic level to Krama over a span of eight years. Once they attain proficiency they are allowed to sit for pariksha and on successfully passing out are conferred the title “ Kramapaati ”.
After successfully obtaining the title of Kramapati, vidyarthis can opt for advanced studies and are taught “Jata” and “Ghanam” for a further period of two years. On successfully completion, they are conferred the title “Ghanapaati”.
Such Ghanapaatis can pursue a more advanced course in the Vedas in other institutions or under private learning such as Shadangam, Salakshnam, Ashta Brahmanam and Veda Bhashyam etc., as they desire.
Vedas are taught in a systematic manner under gurukula system and the welfare of the vidyarthis are well taken care by the Patasala and its adhyapak.
