To preserve, promote and protect Sanätana Dharma by revitalizing vedä pätashaalas, gurukulams, sampradhaaya bhajans, goshaalaas and reclaim our lost tradition and values by bringing the future generation into the fold.
We, the people behind Sanmaargam, hail from a family of Vedic scholars that excelled in Srividya Upasana (Sri Yantra/ Mahameru Pooja) and Astrology. Our forefathers sponsored and oversaw a variety of cultural activities in our ancestral villages, including temple festivals. They taught us the importance of sociocultural values and it is now our turn to carry the torch forward.
Our main challenge today is the homogenization of culture. All globalized cities are beginning to look, feel and sound the same. Many indigenous cultures – including our very own Sanätana Dharma – faces the threat of being eroded. The homogenization of education further accelerates this phenomenon. As the culture erodes, people knowingly or unknowingly move away from the path of dharma, causing huge disturbances in communities. We must stem the tide now.
By fighting to preserve, protect and promote ideas of Sanätana Dharma that have a timeless, universal appeal. Individuals and groups will not be enough to fulfil this mission. We need institutions that canimplement well-defined programs in a sustainable manner.Sanmaargam promises to be one such institution.
Sanmaargam is a vertical of the Nada Veda Mitram (NVM) Charitable Trust. This Trust has another vertical named Ekatvam, which works tirelessly in the field of music and elderly care. Sanmaargam will focus on fostering, building and developing the Vedic culture, contextualising Indian Ethics (Ithihasas, Puranas and Go Samrakshanam) for the benefit of humankind.
Our Vedä Pätashaala initiative will restore the glory of Vedic Gurukulam. It will produce renowned Vedic scholars who will add to the strength of Sanmaargam. Together, we will ensure that the Vedäs, which form the backbone of Sanätana Dharma, remain in our collective consciousness and nourish our souls. We will succeed in preserving the original content as well as the intonation of Vedäs.
Since ancient times, people of Bharathavarsha have been
acknowledged for their strong moral values. Our Vedäs, Puranas and other sacred scriptures are filled with shimmering examples of morality. However, in the post-modern world, we are witnessing a dilution of morality. Our newfound material pleasures are taking us away from the very values that shaped us.
Sanmaargam will endeavour to help people to reclaim their roots and, thereby rediscover themselves. More specifically, Sanmaargam will nourish Bhajan Sampradhaaya to attract people into bakthi maargam – the path of devotion.
We will setup and support Goshaalas to protect & preserve cows. We will also raise awareness about the importance of indigenous cows and the need to assist activists who protect these sacred beings.
